A FILM I APPRECIATED MOST.

I have seen many movies, I saw a good Sinhala film at a local cinema house,  Its film name is a "THE NEWSPAPER". I was told by some of my friends that a good film. This film explores society, poverty, politics, and the criminal world, delivering a powerful look at injustice. I like it because the story is a heart touching movie.

This film, starring Kumara Thirimadura (Luvis) and Sarath Kothalawala (Guna), who are also co-direct, It is produced by Bandula Gunawardane along with Ravindra Guruge and H.D. Premasiri. Released in 2020, It is set during a war era. Guna's brother is wrongly accused of being a suicide bomber, leading to sensational headlines that enrage the villagers, except for Luvis, who supports them. Guna's house is set on fire, leaving him disabled, with only Luvis by his side. Later, Guna discovers evidence clearing his brother's name, but without the newspaper's name, no one believes him. So, he embarks on a journey to Colombo to ensure the truth is published in the headlines. The movie opens with a scene illustrating Guna's poverty as he scavenges for food in the trash.

The film's locations depict a desolate, underdeveloped village, emphasizing the challenges they face. Traveling by train to Colombo, the characters' experiences reflect their lifestyles, social statuses, and education levels. They succeed in their mission, but sadly, the individuals who wished to see the news pass away before the villagers and mother can learn the truth. This movie delves into themes of society, poverty, politics, and the underworld, offering a poignant exploration of injustice.
